Lights Out

Yes, it's another Earth Hour post...maybe one of them which you have read in many other blogs...well, it's the thing that's happening now...and it's the first time it's going global and being observed in Malaysia...
Some pics of Earth Hour being observe from all over the world...

Toronto, Canada

Canberra

Detroit, USA

Colosseum, Italy

Perth

Sydney

Opera House, Sydney

Burj al-Arab, UAE
Participants(anyone who would volunteer to flip the switch off) are suppose switch off lights and all other electronic equipments from 8.30-9.30 local time, wherever you might be...
This is to end a strong message to the world for the realisation of the ever-increasing effects of global warming...of course switching off your lights for one hour on just one night won't even put a slight dent on greeenhouse gas emission, but hopefully people will start saving on energy consumption in the future just like what happened during Earth Hour (well, you don't have to turn off all the lights... just at least try to turn off any unused electric appliances, which will save some money on electric bills also right?)...and hopefully Earth Hour will encourage efforts to cut emission of greenhouse gases and get nations around the world to sign the Kyoto Protocol other agreements of the like in the future... Imagine earth heating up and icecaps melting, flooding, erratic weather, etc....guess you know the facts already...
My family didn't participate...because my dad wanted to watch tv...so in the end the hall lights were left on...but the room lights and porch light were turned off...
I saw some other nearby houses totally in darkness too...glad that people actually care about this...
Not too bad, at least some lights were out...

Reflections

Hi readers!

Sorry for updating for such a long time...and I finally have time to update now...

This Lent, have we been doing what we should?...or rather let me rephrase it, have we been doing what we should within our capabilities every time, especially during Lent? Have we been sensitive to the needs of the people around us? Or have we found ourselves going through difficult times in sadness and despair?

Maybe people didn't understand you, had a bad argument...or maybe you were treated unjustly and you had bad times...and you felt lonely because nobody was there for you when you needed someone...

But did you realise that behind this loneliness, God was there for you...

If you needed love,
God loves you...
If you needed hope,
God gives you hope...
If you needed someone to comfort you,
God is always there to comfort you...
If you needed someone to listen to you,
God is always there to lend you an ear...
If you just need someone to understand you and be always be there for you,
God is always there for you, in the midst of the silence...

Don't believe it? Well, it's true...when it comes to these sort of things, it is only God who you can trust for hope in this world of uncertainty where there is no safe place in the world you can hide and take refuge in...and no matter what you've done in the past, how bad it might be, God loves you and His arms are always open to you...

And for your information, for the people out there who have some misconception, lately people have been asking, 'If God loves us so much that He died for us, then why does God send people to hell?'

The answer is, God doesn't! God doesn't send us to hell...if He loves us so much, how can He send us to hell?...instead, He finds every way possible to get us into heaven, even through many unexpected ways that you can't think of...but the thing is, He gives us freedom too...but not everything we do will bring us closer to Him, there are some things that will distant us from Him...

And He lets us make the decision on whether we want to go to heaven or not...if we accept His salvation, He will bring us to heaven...if we don't, God will not force us, but He is always ready to bring us to heaven if we change our mind, no matter what we did in the past...

So, stop saying that God sends people to hell, because He doesn't, but only we do, by rejecting God...God never sends people to hell, He only sends people to heaven...God doesn't love us and then send us to hell...that's ridiculous...

Over the Weekend

Hey!
Just an update about what happened over the weekend.

Had merentas desa last Saturday...I didn't get within the top 20 places to get any medal...worse still, I had this stomachache which started only after I ran for a few hundred metres...and it's not stomach cramp, it was seriously a stomachache...and it continued for the rest of the day, coming on and off... But still, it was nice to run again, especially after lacking exercise for so long...it was a really badly-needed exercise...

And when night came, I went to Mardheanna's house for her belated birthday party...everybody had to wear white because she had the ultraviolet lights in her house that will make our white shirts glow...the whole setting made it lok like a nightclub or something like that...but it was something different from the normal parties...let the pics do the talking...

See the ultraviolet flourescent tube there? It makes everything white glow.
